C.J. Avarello has over 16 years of experience providing strategic planning and financial management services to businesses and high net worth families. He holds Certified Public Accountant (“CPA”) and Certified Financial Planner (“CFP”) licenses and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Ohio Society of Certified Public Accountants, the Financial Planning Association, the Estate Planning Council of Cleveland, and the City Club of Cleveland.
C.J. began his career in 1995 at a regional accounting firm in Northeast Ohio delivering tax services to closely-held businesses and their owners. In 1997, he joined Dan Gaugler and Mark Weiskind in the Private Client unit at Deloitte & Touche. There, he focused on tax planning, compliance, and wealth management for Fortune 500 executives. He also served several Fortune 500 companies with financial planning seminars and counseling for employees considering early retirement or outplacement packages. In 2003, he left Deloitte to become the Controller for Blue Point Capital Partners, one of the region’s leading middle-market private equity firms. He spent the next eight years learning how complex private equity funds are managed and witnessing first-hand what drove the success and failure of leveraged buyout investments. C.J. then joined Fairway and returned to the wealth management business in 2011.
C.J. earned a BSBA in Accountancy from John Carroll University in 1995. He resides in Avon Lake, Ohio with his wife Audra and their two daughters.
